Pepe Cash (PEPECASH)
Created in 2016, Pepe Cash is a currency closely tied to the Rare Pepe community and the collections derived from the popular “Pepe the Frog” meme.
History
PEPECASH was originally distributed to holders of RAREPEPE, GOXPEPE, AND SHITCOINCARD. A portion of PEPECASH was also donated to Folding Coin miners. After some giveaways on Twitter and in the Rare Pepe Telegram chat, the rest was burned, which ended up being about 300M PEPECASH.
PEPECASH was also used to submit cards into the Rare Pepe directory: a certain supply had to be destroyed by sending it to a specific burn address.
Use Cases
Trading ORBs on ORBital
On ORBital, PEPECASH is the main trading currency for The Rare Pepe collection.
Art Submissions
Some more recent projects, such as Fake Rares ‘Commons’ still require a destruction of PEPECASH for submissions.
