Minting Counterparty Tokens and Creating Collections Have Never Been Easier!
ORBital tokenization tool, one of the ORBital’s three core pillars, allows you to effortlessly issue Counterparty tokens with rich metadata, such as images, and to create your own collections to better organize your creations.
QUICK MENU
- CREATE COLLECTION
- CREATE ORB
Thanks to its user-friendly interface and simple workflow, you can tokenize your art in minutes. With just a few clicks, your new collection of freshly minted ORBs will be live!
With the ORBital tokenization tool, you can start with creating your collection and then add ORBs to it, or directly issue an ORB that you can add to your collection later, or let it standalone.

Create a Collection
-
From the main “Create” menu, choose “Collection”.
-
Be sure that your wallet is connected to ORBital.
-
Collections are created offchain and completely for free!
-
Note that you’ll need to add at least one ORB in your new collection before it can be published and listed on ORBital.
-
-
Upload the images that will be shown to represent your collection when listed on ORBital. Click "Next".
-
Fill in the information related to your collection, such as its title and description.
-
You can also add external links (to your website or social media).
-
"Open collection" option: If you choose to create an open collection, other creators will be able to add their ORBs in it. Otherwise, only you will have the right to mint ORBs in this collection. You can also change this parameter later on.
-
Once the collection is published, it will look like this.
-
-
Save your collection by clicking on the "Create and go to my collections" button.
-
You’ll find the list of your collections under the “Profile” menu (in the top right corner of your screen), “Created Collections”.
-
-
Publish your collection
-
To publish a collection, go to "Created Collections" under the "Profile" menu and click on the "Publish" button. Note that you cannot publish an empty collection.
-
Your collection will appear on the public list of collections ("Browse" menu, then "Collections".)
-
Mint an ORB
-
From the main “Create” menu, choose “ORB”. This option allows you to mint new Counterparty tokens with rich metadata.
- Be sure that your wallet is connected to ORBital.
-
Upload the image you want to tokenize, then click “Next”. You can also save your creation as a draft anytime and resume the whole process later.
-
Choose the collection you want to add your ORB to, or leave it empty for a standalone, collectionless ORB.
- You can only add ORBs to the collection you’ve created, or to open collections. An ORB can also be added to an existing collection later on.
-
Fill in extended information related to your ORB, such as its name, description and other.
-
Choose the appropriate storage option for your ORB’s metadata.
-
ORBital offers various options to store your ORB metadata in a decentralized way to keep them secure and available forever. Choose according to your specific needs, metadata size and your budget.
-
Note that some options may not be available yet at this moment.
-
-
Token Properties
-
Define the Counterparty token supply and whether you want to be able to mint additional supply later, or not.
-
Define the name of the Counterparty token you’re going to mint. Once minted, this information cannot be modified!
-
-
Review all the information related to your ORB and then confirm by clicking on the “Pay” button.
-
The price includes the blockchain fees covering the token minting directly to your connected wallet, custom token name (if applicable), supply lock (if applicable) and a secure and durable metadata storage on IPFS.
-
Attention! If you pay from a different wallet than the one connected to your account, you will need to confirm the payment by entering the transaction hash! If you skip this step, we won’t be able to link your ORB to your account.
-
-
If you want to change anything, go back to your ORB drafts:
- Under the “Profile” menu (in the top right corner of your screen) choose “My ORBs”
- Switch to the "Drafts" tab
-
Click “edit Draft”.
-
You’ll also find all your ORBs here while waiting for the token minting process to be completed.
You're all set!
